How Tri-Mode Connectivity Works on Valor Pro Wireless

Last updated:

The SCUF Valor Pro Wireless controller is designed for every play style — whether you prefer the stability of a cable, the freedom of wireless, or the flexibility of Bluetooth. With Tri-Mode Connectivity, you can seamlessly switch between wired, low-latency wireless, and Bluetooth modes depending on where and how you play.

This guide walks you through how each connection works and how to set it up.

Wired Mode

When every millisecond matters, wired play keeps you directly connected for the fastest, most consistent input.

To connect in Wired Mode:

  1. Set the connection method switch to the appropriate platform:
    1. Left position for Xbox
    2. Middle position for PC
  2. Connect your controller to your device using the included USB-C cable.
  3. Press and hold the Nexus button until the LEDs turn on.

Wired mode also enables 1,000 Hz polling on PC for ultra-responsive performance — ideal for competitive gaming or precision-heavy titles.

Low-Latency Wireless Mode

Experience near-wired performance without the cable. Low-Latency Wireless Mode uses SCUF’s dedicated dongle to maintain a fast, stable connection for Xbox or PC.

To connect in Low-Latency Wireless Mode:

  1. Plug the wireless dongle into your Xbox or PC.
  2. Set the connection method switch to the correct platform:
    1. Left position for Xbox
    2. Middle position for PC
  3. Press and hold the Nexus button until the LEDs turn on.

Bluetooth Mode

Bluetooth mode is perfect for mobile gaming, tablets, or PCs without a dongle.

To connect in Bluetooth Mode:

  1. Set the connection method switch to Bluetooth (right position).
  2. Press and hold the Nexus button until the LEDs turn on.
  3. Press and hold both the Nexus and View buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
  4. Release both buttons when the white LED above the Nexus button starts blinking rapidly. This indicates the controller is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
  5. On your device, open Bluetooth settings, locate “Valor Pro Wireless Controller,” and select it to pair.

Once connected, you’re ready for wireless play via Bluetooth.

⏱️ Note: The controller stays in pairing mode for 20 seconds. If no connection is made within that time, it will exit pairing mode and may power off.

Recommended Use

  • For PC gaming, SCUF recommends using Wired or Low-Latency Wireless modes for the most responsive experience.
  • For mobile devices, use Bluetooth for convenience and compatibility.
