The Ultimate SCUF Omega Setup Guide (Everything You Need to Know)

SCUF Omega is a performance controller built for PS5 and PC that supports wired, wireless, and Bluetooth connectivity. It features highly customizable controls including remappable paddles, side action buttons, and G keys, as well as instant triggers for faster reactions. The controller also allows for physical customization through swappable faceplates, thumbsticks, and face buttons. Read on to find answers to the most common questions about setting up and getting the most out of your SCUF Omega.

How to Connect Your Omega to PS5 or PC

Before connecting, remove the magnetic face plate to access the platform and connectivity switches. The SCUF Omega has three connection modes: wireless, wired, and Bluetooth, and two platform modes: PlayStation 5 and PC.

For wired play, set the connectivity switch to wired mode and connect the USB-C cable to your Omega and then to your PS5 or PC. You can also use the included USB cable lock to help keep your connection secure during wire play.

For low latency wireless play, set the platform switch to either PlayStation or PC, depending on where you're playing. You're going to set the switch to wireless mode and plug in the USB dongle to your PS5 or PC. Then press the PlayStation button to power on your controller.

For Bluetooth mode, set the connectivity switch to Bluetooth. Then hold the PlayStation button and create button together to enter pairing mode. The light bar under the G keys will blink while the Omega is in pairing mode, and it will appear in your devices Bluetooth list.

How To Hardware Remap & Disable Paddles on Omega

To remap the paddles on your SCUF Omega, press the profile button until you see the profile color you want to adjust. Then press and hold the profile button again until the profile indicator light starts blinking. Now press the paddle you want to remap and the button you want it mapped to at the same time. The indicator light will turn white. And to lock in your changes, press the profile button once more.

Prefer two paddles over four? SCUF Omega comes with two paddle covers to blank the inner back paddles. Locate the finger notch on the side of the inner paddles. Pull away from the notch until the inner paddle comes off. Once removed, take your blanking plate and line it up in the same spot. Press the blanking plate into place until you hear a soft click. And that's it.

For times where you don't want to use any paddles, you can also disable them without using the SCUF app. First, hold the profile button until the light starts blinking. Press the paddle you want to disable and the start button at the same time. Repeat for any additional paddles. Then press the profile button again to lock in your changes. Want even more customizations, remappings, or adjustments on your Omega? Make sure you download the official SCUF app.

How To Adjust Instant Triggers on SCUF Omega

Our instant triggers are designed for ultra-fast reactions. To enable instant triggers, flip the trigger switch to the outside of the controller. This shortens the trigger pull to mouse click speed. Now, if you're playing racing games or want the full trigger control, flip the switch back to the inside of the controller. This unlocks the full range of motion.

How To Customize Your SCUF Omega

Want to switch up the style of your Omega? Swapping your face plate is super quick and easy. Gently pull the magnetic face plate off the top of the controller and lift it over the thumb sticks. To replace it, align the holes with the thumb sticks. The face plate magnetically locks into place and you're done.

To swap your thumb sticks, first remove the magnetic face plate. Grab the thumb stick you want to remove and pull it upward firmly. To install a new thumb stick, align the hole on the bottom of the thumb stick with the post. Give it a slight push. Once installed, replace the face plate.

Customization on Omega doesn't stop with the face plate or the thumb sticks. You can also swap out the individual mechanical face buttons as well as the touchpad, giving you the freedom to make your Omega your way and truly unique. So, make sure you stay tuned for the drop of our Omega customization kits in the future.

How To Use SCUF Omega G-Keys

The SCUF Omega features five G keys along the bottom front of the controller. What you can do with G keys depends on your platform mode.

In PS5 mode, G1 and G5 by default come without mappings. G2 and G4 support wired headset audio function and G3 supports local mute and you can long press to fully mute your audio.

In PC mode, all five G keys can be remapped, similar to remapping the paddles. For deeper G key customization, you can also use the SCUF mobile app.

How To Remap & Disable SAX Buttons on SCUF Omega

SCUF Omega includes two side action buttons, one on each side of the controller. They're designed to give you extra inputs without removing your thumbs from the sticks. To remap side buttons, press and hold the profile button until the light blinks. Press the side button and the button you want to remap at the same time. The RGB strip turns white to confirm. Then press the profile button again to lock in your changes.

Similar to our inner back paddles, if you rather not use the side action buttons, you can blank them out completely. First, remove the magnetic face plate. Pop out the side buttons. Then, install the included blanking plates. Reattach the face plate and you're ready to play.
